Traditional Food and drinks in the heart of the lakes
Our Hotel Restaurants are as popular with passers-by as they are with our guests. A tempting traditional hot and cold buffet breakfast is served in the Windermere Room. The Waterbird Restaurant offers a sumptuously seasonal table d’hôte dinner menu using only the best locally sourced produce, with Chef’s specialty dishes and homemade desserts complimented by fine wine, all make sure the view on your plate is as memorable as the one from our windows.
For a light bite, visit the Hotel Bar Conservatory for a homemade bistro meal served during the day and enjoy conservatory cuisine in comfort taking in the breath taking views over the lakes, hills and mountains or dine in our cosy lounge with a roaring log fire.
Afternoon Tea in the lounge
The afternoon’s here are for relaxing and catching up with family and friends, over a pot of Lakeland tea and a view of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells. Enjoy a special treat and book Afternoon Tea with a selection of delicate finger sandwiches with a variety of our best homemade cakes and scones. For a little added luxury, add a half bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne with your afternoon tea for the ultimate indulgence.
Alternatively, there is the lighter option of traditional Cream Tea which includes homemade fruit scones served with jam and clotted cream. Served from 2.00pm to 4.30pm, our Full Afternoon Tea must be pre-booked.
Sunday Lunch in the Bar Conservatory
Enjoy a Lake District Sunday Lunch at the Burnside Hotel in our lake view conservatory. Served from 12.30noon to 2.30pm our four course Sunday Lunch Menu must be pre-booked.
Fancy a lighter bite? Choose from our selection of sandwiches or our homemade bistro meals, served all the day; some of the favourite dishes being our homemade burger or freshly battered fish and chips.
